From Painting to Pattern Design

My paintings are a great source of inspiration for my pattern designs that I sell at Addora. There is usually a logical process to all this madness.
Here is a condensed version:
  1. Create my original art (most likely it is a large acrylic painting).
  2. Photograph or scan the art.
  3. Edit my art in photoshop.
  4. Merge all art/background onto same layer.
  5. Crop my art as close to the edge as possible.
  6. Offset my art.
  7. Fill in empty areas with more elements.
  8. Save my new pattern!
